Existing framings and roofs were in poor condition and therefore torn down and replaced, but the original façades were preserved. The balconies on the façade of the backyard were also removed, to maximize sunlight in the new garden.
The project includes the addition of an extra floor while preserving and renovating the existing roof, facing south, in order to create an additional exterior space for the new dwellers.
In the ground floor, the redesign of the existing staircase opened a new, more generous space for the loung, kitchen and living room area, with direct access to the new garden.
